Peer Review Policy

Historický obzor (Historical Horizon) follows a rigorous and impartial peer review process to maintain the academic quality and integrity of published work. All submitted manuscripts are first examined by the editorial team to determine whether they fit the journal’s scope and meet basic standards of originality, academic quality, and presentation.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment may be sent to qualified reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts on the basis of originality, scholarly significance, methodological soundness, accuracy of sources, clarity of presentation, and contribution to historical scholarship. The review process is conducted objectively and reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality and disclose any potential conflict of interest.

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer or editorial comments. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation when necessary. The final decision to accept, request revision, or reject a manuscript rests with the Editor or Editorial Board. The journal does not guarantee acceptance of any submission and reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet its academic or ethical standards.

The identities and comments of reviewers are treated confidentially in accordance with the journal’s review procedures. Authors are expected to respond to reviewer comments professionally and make appropriate revisions within the specified timeframe. The journal is committed to ensuring a fair, transparent, and academically responsible peer review process.
